The Kentucky Conservation Foundation (KCF) and KCC combined efforts in February 2011 to bring the importance of conservation and biodiversity directly to lawmakers and to the public in Frankfort. Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission Executive Director Don Dott, and KCC Board members created an informative slide show and presentation. Spectacular photos from the new publication, Kentucky's Natural Heritage. were part of this event, aided by KCC webmaster and multimedia consultant, Ken Cooke. Don Dott , Dr. Bill Martin, a forest ecologist and Bruce Scott, author and waterways expert, spoke to visitors and legislators at the Capitol Annex Building. Dr.Vicki Holmberg, physician and environmental health advocate, presented materials focusing on the crucial relationship between biodiversity and human health and well being. Visitors were given the new KCF electric green tote bags, photos and calendars donated by KCC members.
